I'm getting lots of questions about this. Let me try to answer all of
you and explain in more detail.

First, I'm getting mixed information, but "right now" Yahoo email is
working again. An organization can get blacklisted again if it does not
stop spammers (and spammers are very tricky and hard to stop).

Second, email will continue to try to be sent for several days before it
gives up. A student could send an email from yahoo that does not come
through immediately, but he or she doesn't know about the problem until
3 or 4 or 5 days later, or you may not receive it until a few days after
it was sent, once the "blacklisting" is removed.

Third, we are sending a notification to Scrappy (the student mailing
list) with the same information.

Fourth, the blacklisting may affect a student trying to send in course
assignments from a yahoo email account (or other organizations that are
"blacklisted") and cause a delay of a few days in your seeing it (or
cause it to be eventually returned to the student if the "blacklisting"
is not removed in time). Please note, I recommend the use of Blackboard
(utconline) courses for turning in assignments electronically, not email.

Fifth, at this time, I not heard of any other popular organization with
large numbers of email accounts that was blacklisted, only Yahoo.

Thanks,
Richard
