The Georgia State Supreme court just ruled that a lawyer MUST preside over
all property closings. In the past, paralegals and others (not sure who they
were talking about) were able to perform this service thus keeping the legal
cost down. Now the cost will increase. BTW, it also includes the home equity
loans ( as i understood the article).
The lawyers have been trying to get this ruling for a period of time.
