 Hello,

Is there somewhere on the internet that might explain what these are
about? I can see a list of available devices with the SHOWDEV command.
The first two devices are discs, then there's a few unavailable ones
owned by some sessions. Then there's a load of available ones.

What are they used for? Why would you allocate one? How would you
allocate one?

My background is UNIX and Windows.

Thanks.

Peter
