Have to add my 2 cents - from the Cat Fanciers' Association viewpoint
- we often use the term 'cats' to refer to Adult felines only (over 8
months of age), while recognizing that 'Kittens' are baby 'cats', of
course.  Perhaps the problem could be clarified if it read 'Adult
cats' in the bag, with their 6 kittens.
Again - the general public uses the term 'Cats and Kittens' as though
'Kittens' were a separate entity from 'Cats'...

Whatever - an interesting exercise - one I'll pass along to my son
and his 5th grade Math class...
