In NMMGR use the following series of function keys to get to the TCP general protocol screen: OPEN CONFIG - NS - UNGUIDED CONFIG - NETXPORT - GO TO GPROT - GO TO TCP.  On that screen you will find a field for "Maximum Number of Connections".  I assume you are exceeding that number.

since 2 days we recieve the following messages on our HP3000/979

NETXPORT TCP SIP
Max connections exceeded

Yesterday we stopped network services (netcontrol stop, nscontrol stop)
after restarting everything seemed to be fine - now we have the same
problem again.

any ideas
