You should never lose your system configured in a XP raid set,
or any raid set for that matter, if it is properly configured.
The only way for that to happen is if you lost multiple mechs
in the raid set and didn't have any hot spares configured. We
have at least two hot spares and four on our bigger XP's.

8 hours for a disk rebuild is quite a long time. Have your CE check
the priority the XP gives to rebuilds. The size of the HDD
also affects the rebuild time. I would guess you are using the
46gb or 72gb mechs. The 72gb HDD's with the older firmware had known
problems reporting false failures. The lastest Major release is
1-18-71-00/00 to fix this.

HTH,

Guy Paul - HP
SAN/XP Delivery Engr
