Ms. Meredith Perry, Grants Specialist for Education, Social Science, and
Community Outreach in the Office of Grants and Program Review, recently
served as a review panelist for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development in Washington, D. C. Ms. Perry was part of a three-member
panel which advised staff of HUD's Office of University Partnerships (OUP)
as it conducted its annual Peer Review process for Community Outreach
Partnership Center (COPC) grants.

The COPC program supports the efforts of institutions of higher education to
forge comprehensive partnerships with low-wealth communities to enhance
community building, improve health and wellness, reduce crime, promote
business development, and foster fair housing. As part of the review panel,
Ms. Perry carefully appraised and evaluated the merits of each proposal and
made recommendations to HUD staff about which projects should be funded.

Ms. Perry’s service to the Office of University Partnerships has made UTC
eligible to receive bonus points on its New Directions proposal which was
submitted for HUD’s consideration this summer.

Congratulations to Ms. Perry! Your service to the Office of University
Partnerships brings recognition to UTC’s metropolitan mission and
underscores your commitment to UTC’s outreach and community service
initiatives.
