We are fortunate to have this opportunity.........

Tivoli Theatre
Monday, October 6 at 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm (ET)
The Mountain Lake Institute Trust for Public Land and the Arts and
Education Council present this film by Thomas Riedelsheimer. Rivers and
Tides is a rare film about an artist that is, in itself, a work of art. It
is a sensual and poetic journey into the world and mind of renowned
Scottish sculptor Andy Goldsworthy. Using materials from nature,
Goldsworthy allows the elements to have the last say in his beautiful
creations, as his ingenious patterns of wood, leaves, stone and ice change
and erode over time. Filmmaker Thomas Reidelsheimer followed the artist for
over a year documenting his improvisational working process and capturing
the serene spectacle of his works. Although Goldsworthys land art is best
known through still photography, Rivers and Tides, with its haunting
musical score by Fred Frith, is an altogether different way of experiencing
the artist's most ephemeral masterpieces. The San Francisco Critics Circle
named Rivers and Tides the Best Documentary Film of 2002. Admission is
$7.50, $5.00 for students and AEC film card club holders.
