Just recently I have begun using POPfile to access my 3000 based
eMail intray. After a little training, this little gem seems to
have become very good at detecting and tagging spam (uses Bayesian
filters, as far as I understand, not simple keyword-in-subject
selection). I'm sure there are other solutions, but this one works
fairly well for me. Oh, my intray is on MPE, but not being a Perl
guru, I am running the POPfile "proxy" on Linux. I tried to install
it on MPE, but it lacked some perl modules and I did not spend time
on learning how to add those.

See http://popfile.sourceforge.net for details and download.
