Denys wrote a "real long" and pro-Republican spiel blaming the
Democrats for all the problems in the US. It is a pity that the
political system both in the US and the UK is focussed mainly on a two
party system. That way, people tend to take sides and point fingers at
the "other" side instead of addressing the issues involved.
Unfortunately, we are stuck with this system for now and the nature of
this system is that self-seeking, power-hungry and mostly monied
candidates with connections are the ones that claw their way to the
positions of power instead of any altruistic, genuinely caring, honest
people. That said, I am sure that this list can do without the eternal
Republican v. Democrat, or Labour v. Conservative etc discussions so
I thank you, Denys, for sharing your rather one-sided opinions with us
but perhaps they would find a more receptive audience elsewhere (in my
opinion, that is).
Cheers,
John Dunlop
