Ron,
It seems to me that a reload is a sledge hammer approach to a corrupt file.
Remeber, this is MPE not windows. :-)
Can't you just purge and restore the file?
On a quite system try running FSCHECK.MPEXL.TELESUP
do a CA ALL
and possibly
CHECKDIRC ;FIX
CHECKLABEL ;FIX
you can also purge the file from FSCHECK.
