Thursday marks the second anniversary of the tragedy that visited us on
September 11 2001.
As a Community we should have an opportunity to remember those who lost so
much and to reflect on what it has meant to this country.
Thus, we will ring the UTC carillon at 8:46 am to mark the time of the
first assault. It is hoped that everyone who happens to be on the campus
regardless of what they are doing will halt their routine and observe a
moment of silence.
From noon to 1:00pm the Patten Chapel will be open to the Community and
the Campus Ministry will provide the setting for reflection and/ or an
opportunity to pray.
At 9:11pm the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority will conduct a candlelight
remembrance at the intersection of Oak and Baldwin Streets. The Campus is
invited.
We trust that all of us will take some time from our busy lives to stop and
ponder the enormity of this infamous event.
