<SHAMELESS PLUG>

For those going to HPWorld 2003 and preparing your schedules, please block
off 10:40 - 11:50 AM Friday, August 15 for my talk "Build, Buy, Port or
Stay? Choosing a winning strategy for your HP e3000 transition." I've
subtitled it "What should an IT organization that committed to the HP e3000
do now?"

I cannot guarantee you wealth, happiness or wisdom if you attend, but I can
guarantee you will hear a different, fresh and unique perspective on
planning the IT future for your organization. I have over 25 years
experience in IT management, including systems, operations and development.
I am Co-Chair of SIG MPE, Vice-Chair of the MPE Forum and have been writing
regularly about HP e3000 issues for over twelve years. In my career, I've
been involved in build, buy and port projects. Since my HP 3000 R&D machine
(and host of my web site) is a 9x7 system that I intend to keep running
indefinitely, you could also say I am involved in homesteading.

HPWorld content managers saw fit to give me the absolute last session slot
in the conference, the time when, historically, people are checking out of
their hotels and racing for the airport; hence my shameless plugging. My
wife is not accompanying me and I have no relatives in Atlanta, so I'm
hoping to avoid having my audience consist of only the session proctor. ;-)

See you there - please?

</SHAMELESS PLUG>

John
