As another one of the "more senior" faculty (29 years), I too am outraged
at the apparent complete lack of concern by the administration regarding
the faculty, staff, and most importantly students. While I feel Greg
O'Dea's pain, I must add that if I received a raise that was half as much
as Ms. Crutchfield's salary, I would be within a few hundred dollars of a
100% raise!!!!! As others have already stated, these are among the worst
of times for this campus and yet it seems that the only ones aware of this
fact are those of us who have not been blessed with raises and salaries
that reflect the market rate. What happened to "we will do less with
less"? Does it only apply to the educational mission of this
university? I believe that this issue needs to be strongly addressed in
the upcoming Faculty Senate meeting and I would implore all who can to attend.
