The PBX is getting better...it is still having trouble with an entire
section that is OFFLINE, however, the vendor will return again tomorrow to
try to work this damage out and bring ALL the customers back into service.
Thanks,
Luis Leon

Subject: [UTCSTAFF] Storm Damage

The late Wednesday afternoon thunder storm lighting strikes on the campus
have caused damage to the campus network and the campus phone system. The
following are known problems.

Network access for Founders Hall was out but service has been restored late
this evening by replacing five destroyed network switches.

The voice and data connection to the OT faculty at UnumProvident remains out
due to equipment damage. At this time we do not know when service will be
restored.

The PBX to voice mail system interface was damaged and voice mail will not
accept new voice mail messages, however existing voice mail can be played,
we will not have projected repair time until sometime on Thursday.

Please report any loss of network access to the HelpDesk at 4000 and any
additional telephone problems to the telephone trouble line 4784. We will
continue to make every effort to restore all damaged service as quickly as
possible.
