you might be able to remedy the situation in place by hooking up a terminal
to the console port and issue a control-Q to get the flow going.

you might be able to config the port to use NO flow control; at least turn
off any enq-ack control.  or you might try hooking up a terminal, make sure
you're getting the displays, then just unplug it, making sure you don't
issue a control-S or anything else, for that matter, before the disconnect?

that's all just a guess based on 2645-type terminals playing console on
earlier e3k boxes using serial console ports.  but if the console's
connector has the magic 3 wires 2 3 7, you're probably good to go.
