We are having the same issue, and I know it has been discussed before on this list, but I cannot, for the life of me, remember why it happens or what the solution is. In our case, we use VESoft to restrict user sessions, so when the connection drops and the HP still thinks the session is there, the user is denied access. I'd be interested if anyone has had this problem and resolved it. It is becoming a big deal here.

Hello All,
Quick question. I'll keep it short :) We have a program that connects
to an external system via IP and a socket. If the connection drops from our
end we try to reconnect, but the external system still holds the port open.
That causes us to fail to re-connect. We need to send a TCP/IP RESET to
that port to tear down that connection. Is this possible. MPE 6.5 power
patch 3 and then some. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
