Mr. Kim Renz, Manager of the Fine Arts Center, has received a total of
$5,200 in funding from the Southern Arts Federation to bring two performance
companies to UTC’s Fine Arts Center.

Mr. Renz acquired $2,500 for the performance of the Aquila Theatre Company,
which specializes in classical theatre. Aquila is a Professional Company in
Residence at the Center for Ancient Studies at New York University, and has
toured throughout Europe, Canada, and the United States. The company’s
dedication to classical theatre has earned it the prize for Dramatic
Excellence from the Greek government and several prestigious British Council
Touring awards.

Mr. Renz also received $2,700 to bring a performance by the Ailey II Dance
Company to UTC. This group of performers is the junior company of the
acclaimed Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and they have received great
accolades in their own right. The company is known for its innovative
performances and its dedication to community outreach in diverse communities
across the nation. Information about UTC performance dates and ticket sales
will be available soon at the following address:

Congratulations to Mr. Renz! Bringing performances of this caliber to UTC
enhances the exposure that students have to the arts and gives people in the
region access to a diverse range of talented performers.
