Developed all software, under a three-year federal grant ending Sept. 30, 2003, to create curric-ulum and training methods to improve the knowledge and skills of Texas Child Protective Services managers and supervisors on the use of data. The training is designed to decrease the time it takes to have children in a permanent home and to minimize risk to the children. Utilizing data provided by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services (TDPRS), developed interactive charts utilized by managers from their own TDPRS intranet-connected workstations. Spring 2003, adjunct professor
UTA School of Social Work
Taught a technology course involving software such as MS Office XP, all applications, and SPSS used in social work.

1992-1998, child protective services specialist
Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services
Conducted 1,400 child abuse/neglect investigations. Provided casework services to abused, ne-glected or exploited children. Interviewed/counseled parents and children. Worked with educa-tional, medical, legal and other professionals to assess risk to the child. Always met standards through use of self-developed software and a statewide computer system. CPS Specialist IV is the most senior investigator position. In the supervisor’s absence, was acting supervisor of six workers for more than three years.

1987-92, ambulatory services director
Utilization Management Services, Omaha, Neb.
Developed all ambulatory services software and oversaw client consultation and marketing of the product. Incorporated physician services criteria, medical procedure codes and diagnosis codes. Client insurance companies processed millions of claims utilizing the software.

1986-87, corporate planning manager
Methodist Health System, Omaha, Neb.
Created PC database and performed utilization analyses in the development of comprehensive competitor profiles. Led in the development of a client hospital's strategic plan and provided guidance in its implementation.

1978-86, planning services director
Immanuel Medical Center, Omaha, Neb.
Was the only department head to report directly to the president of the 1,600-employee medical center. Prepared reports utilized by the president in working with the medical staff and the Board of Directors. Prepared comprehensive competitor profiles. Prepared all reports analyzing and justifying the need for large capital expenditures in the areas of diagnostic technology, expansion of the center’s long-term care facility, computer systems, satellite outpatient centers and the largest licensed child-care center in Nebraska. Liaison between physicians, attorneys, insurance representatives and management. Liaison with hospital association.

1976-78, assistant director
Central Indiana Health Systems, Indianapolis, Ind.
Directed 11 professionals and 13 committees charged with evaluating all proposed and existing health services as part of a federally mandated system of health care regulation. Central Indiana was the eighth agency, of 200 in U.S., to produce a plan that enabled continuation of funding.

1964-68, sergeant
U.S. Marine Corps
Repaired and maintained photo electronics equipment utilizing infrared technology on jet reconnaissance aircraft.
