And then yoiu have to buy the lenses.

But, Carl, actually there is a housing available for it:

http://www.seacam.com/english/profil/sprofil.htm

The cost of the housing is "only" equivalent to the cost of the
camera. ;-)

However, anybody who can afford it would be pretty certain to
currently have the world's best digital camera/underwater housing
combination. Currently is the operative word, this technology is
evolving at almost light speed.

However, to give Canon their due, unlike many they have put the
technology of their top camera into the same body as their EOS1 series
conventional film cameras (it IS an extremely good body) which means
that there is a housing for it "pre-made" as it were. It is also, IIRC
Kodak recently announced another, the only one with a CMOS sensor
which is the equivalent of good old 35mm film.

Is this important? You bet, very important, since this is a proper SLR
it means that any lenses you purchase are exactly as described, no
conversion necessary.

Actually, whilst I haven't looked it's quite possible that at least
Hugyfot, Subal and UK-Germany (alpha order) might therefore also have
housings for it:

Cheers,

Christian
