I have a feeling I've seen this written somewhere around here, but I'll ask to be certain...
I have a routine that is a straight MPE command file -- while I do have MPEX available, converting this may be more trouble than it is worth [it is basically the "mailspf" command file with some local enhancements; I'm making another "local" enhancement :) ] In any case, I came across a situation where the "quote" function would be perfect, but I'm getting an unknown variable/function error.
It IS documented [that's why I thought of using it] but "help quote" doesn't find it [typing "pos" at the help prompt, then continuing to press "return" to go past that in the help file shows it up nicely]. And the final "Aha!" comes from :SHOWME showing this system has version 6.5 of MPE -- this is where I vaguely recall that the function was talked about on this list, but "didn't quite make it" into 6.5 [should be in 7.0, right?]
[fortunately for what I'm doing, I can hard code the string with extra quotes myself, it just would have been easier to use the function]
