I'd be happy to "roll my own" solution using ssl, java, etc. Whether the
client is willing to pay for such a solution is another question (actually
I know the answer to that question, so it's on to plan B :)

I think having the 3K talk to a secure ftp box, which in turn talks to GM,
is the most viable solution for this client.

(Longs is a GM supplier???)
