TO: All Faculty and Staff
FROM: Steven Leonard, Executive Vice President
SUBJECT: Brice Bible to be Interim CIO

I have named Brice Bible, Assistant Vice President for Research and
Information Technology, to serve as Interim Chief Information Officer
(CIO)
for the University of Tennessee System, effective immediately. The
position became vacant when Dr. Dwayne McCay resigned to become
Provost at Florida Tech. A search will be conducted for a permanent
CIO.

Brice currently manages statewide Information Technology (IT)
services for the University. He earned the B.S. degree in mechanical
engineering from Tennessee Tech and the M.B.A. degree from UT
Chattanooga. He worked in the power generation industry in
information systems development and management prior to coming to UT
in 1990.

We are fortunate to have Brice available to step into this role. He
has the background and experience to bring a team approach to the IT
group, while addressing the need for improved services and products
as we find methods to increase efficiency and lower costs.
