Of course, if Warner and Hanna/Barbera were to sue, they would probably
have to do it in a European court. U.S. copyright law protects only the
expression of an idea or concept, not the idea itself.
BTW, my apologies for the attachment on my previous post. I'm still

I've never seen the short film, but I have seen the commercial and it
reminded me of the many Wile E Coyote, Tom and Jerry, and other cartoons
that used this concept long before 1987 (at least the early 1940's).
Maybe Warner and Hanna/Barbera can get in on this and sue the artists
who made the movie and make it YAIPL (Yet Another Intellectual Property
Lawsuit). ;-)
