Agree on all counts except calling the following "serious" fun:

BHAhahahaha. :)

Wish I could join you guys, except Dubya has made such a mess over that
part of the world and making all 'Merkins PUBLIC ENEMY NUMBER 1 in many
areas of the globe that the Red Sea seems not a wise choice at this time.

Upon landing at LAX this morning, after nearly two weeks out of touch
with the world, I learned that the Norwegian cruise we had booked to
depart Miami on June 29 had blown its stacks, killed several crewmen,
and the cruise had been cancelled, leaving me holding two roundtrip
tickies to Miami, and diving in Florida (anywhere) for a week is
unthinkable -- I know that'll stir up some counterpoints from them
thar locals who think Florida is the center of the universe. :-)))))

To change my flights to some other dates/times would have entailed a
penalty fee of $400 (by the airlines), so a substitute cruise seems
the only alternative. Within the last couple of hours, a substitute
cruise on the Royal Caribbean Voyager -- now the world's largest
floating pod-holder of capacity 3400? -- had sold the cabin the other
cruise had put on a temporary hold.

So, on the identical flights to/from Miami on the cruise dates, we are
not booked on the Carnival with ports of call at Belize, Roatan, Grand
Cayman, and Cozumel -- not bad for one or two tanks each port for
divers.
