i'm hoping you're on an xl system....getting system variables on a classic is
truely challenging :-)
anyhow....from a cm program, you can still/easily use the 'command' intrinsic.
you may have to dump/echo the contents of your variable into a file...but it
would work....
of course, stan would say -- get a copy of 'splash' :-) then you can have
your spl and native mode at the same time :-) - d
