Dr. Judy Wakim and Dr. Kay Lindgren of Nursing have been awarded funds
totaling $54,411 from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)
Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).  The funding will
support two nursing traineeship programs.

For the Advanced Education Nursing Traineeship program, Drs. Wakim and
Lindgren received $30,599.  These funds will support students in the Master
of Science in Nursing (MSN) program at UTC, which prepares professional
nurses for advanced practice as nurse educators, administrators, nurse
informaticists, nurse anesthetists, or family nurse practitioners.  Also,
Drs. Wakim and Lindgren received $23,812 specifically for Nurse Anesthetist
Traineeships.  These funds will support 22 full-time students in the Nurse
Anesthesia Concentration (NAC) within the MSN program.
