Some of you may remember the one kitten (of a litter trying to cross the highway) I managed to save three years ago. He had a crushed skull, was blind, broken ribs and hips (a huddled mass against the curb). I took him to the vet to be put down and he fought his way out of the bag and the box I had him in. She said she could save him and I figured that since he fought this hard to stay alive he earned it. I named him Christopher after Saint Christopher, Catholics in the crowd may get this reference. He regained his sight and eventualy made an almost complete recovery.

We now have a new problem. His hips healed in such a way that he is chronicaly (sp?) compacted. This results in drops of discharge that under normal conditions have been a simple inconvenience one puts up with for a loved one. However, we are now expecting another child and the vet says this type of discharge poses a threat to the health of an infant.

My best little guy is lying here beside me as I write this (he never leaves my side at home... he even watches me shower) and it kills me to write this but I need to know if anyone wants the most loving cat in the world. He does not play or fight or chase things. He just likes being held and looked at. He learned patience while my daughter poked his eyes, pulled his ears and yanked his tail. He never tried to get away from her or even even hissed at her. He has never bared fang or claw and does not scratch furniture. He will play hide and seek and knows "sit, lie down, and shut up" [he talks a lot so I have to shush him when I try to sleep]. He meets you at the door and is your constant companion untill you leave the next day.

Other than feeding him, he gets one dose of intestinal mineral oil in the morning and one inch of malt/mineral/hairball/lubricant salmon flavored stuff at night. Oh yes, clean ups of spots on tile floors. For some reason, he avoids spotting on carpets and we have yet to find anything on the linens which suggests he has some semblance of control. We have spoken to several vets and I have searched the web tirelessly since January looking for solutions to his medical problem. None exist other than a surgery which may cripple him as his bones are weird or he may eventualy just grow out of it.

We will isolate him as a last resort but I hate to take him from our of our living space. It just does not seem fair as hanging out with the family is what he loves best. If you take him and it does not work out, we would take him back.

Please respond if you are interested or have constructive suggestions.
