Depends on what you're connecting to.  If a PIX or 3000/5000
concentrator, Cisco VPN has advantages (split-tunnel, split-DNS, and
stateful firewall if you wish).

You can run into problems with many conflicting 3rd-party packages that
bury themselves into the OS (virus scanners, firewalls, VPN clients,
spam filters, etc).  Not unlike multiple 3000 features fighting over the
same AIF (Superdex, Omnidex, b-trees for example) but with even less
structure.

Cisco VPN can be installed over McAfee personal firewall, but you can do
the converse.  Nortel VPN could behave similarly.

But, as Craig notes, if it works out of the box, don't break it :-)
