In trying to tighten up access in our system (many people used MGR.ACCT with high capabilities), I issued people with more normal user names and capabilities. A few programs that open files across accounts then failed to open.
I finally found that a whole bunch of files had ACDs on them - many were small files used to pass transient data relating to application parms between menus and programs, which doesnt make any sense.
Also, most people here dont even know what ACDs are for anyway, so its unlickely they have been applied consciously.
Has there ever been some sort of default application of ACD to files in restoring them in some fashion, or Op sys upgrade that did something with ACDs??
TIA,
John Pitman
