Rose is now an Official Cast Member of a movie.

Several weeks ago there was a blurb on TV about wanting old cars from the
1960s and 1970s for a movie they were filming here in Atlanta. On a lark I
took the number down & my wife Rose called it. It was an answering machine
and she left a message saying she had a copper-colored 1977 Ford Maverick.

THEY CALLED BACK.

They said that they wanted several Mavericks but Rose's is the only Maverick
they got a callback on. They took down more particulars and said they would
probably call in early January. They called Sunday afternoon and had her
show up at a staging area at 1:00pm Yesterday (Monday). (Originally it was
10:30am, then 12:30am, then 1:00pm).

The movie is called "When Harry Met Lloyd: Dumb & Dumberer" -
www.whenharrymetlloyd.com It stars Eric Christian Olsen, Derek Richardson,
Cheryl Oteri, Luis Guzman, Eugene Levy, and Mimi Rogers.

Rose said that filming each scene was like controlled chaos. The street
would be totally empty, then the Director would yell ACTION and all of a
sudden people would come around the corner & down the street & cars going to
& fro. When the director yelled CUT all the people & traffic disappeared
back around the corner & into the doorways - and POOF the street was
deserted again. This occured 5 or 6 times (they took 5 or 6 takes). Rose
said it was like watching a swiss clock where the little figures would come
out, mechanically hit the bell, then pop back into the little doorway out of
view.

They had her show up in rollers and she was to bring 2 or 3 outfits from the
1970s. The film is set in the fall of 1976. They were so keen to use her
Maverick that they fudged and called it a 1976 Maverick instead of a 1977
Maverick. (The car was bought in the fall of 1976 anyway so they didn't
really have to fudge at all).

They first took her to Makeup. While Rose was in Makeup she got to hearing
the others there talk about their other work. One guy (Mr Britton) was a
composer / musician in his other life and was doing movie work for some
extra cash. The album he made was called "Playing Chess with God". Some
others there were complaining that they did a whole bunch of scenes in
"Fried Green Tomatoes" but they all got cut. Hopefully they won't cut Rose's
scenes. They rushed everyone through Makeup because they were expecting Mimi
Rogers on the set any moment - whenever a main star hits the set,
everything else gets dropped - the main stars wait on NO ONE. One lady was
to be in a scene with Mimi Rogers and she had 2 wigs pre-made-up in case
Mimi showed up before her hair was ready. In that case the lady would have
to pop a wig on and just go. I'll have to show Rose a picture of her but
I've got a sneaking suspicion that the lady was Cheryl Oteri.

They took her back to her car and in a big caravan (like a funeral
procession) they took all the vehicles to be filmed out to the primary set.
On the set they approached her and said that her car was to be a "primary
vehicle" in the scene. They told her that they were going to have a
professional driver drive her car in the drive-by scenes. The director
wanted to show off the best attributes of Rose's Maverick. (This has us
thinking that they are going to show this footage to the stars in the Daily
Rushes and maybe the car will be used by one of the stars later on in
filming). He was dressed in a tan jacket and tan hair that almost matched
the copper color on the Maverick. They filmed it several times. Parked,
being driven, swinging around the corner, going straight down the street,
and so on.

She was approached and asked "Have you been placed yet?". She thought they
meant placed out of the way and said no, but to just place her anywhere.
They set her down on a bench in the middle of the scene. Rose was placed on
a park bench with her black coat hanging open. She played a shopper
rummaging through her purse. At one point one Actor walked by her and asked
Rose for directions during the scene. Rose gave him faux directions because
she hadn't been given any dialog instructions. We don't know if her dialog
will be in the movie. When they first yelled ACTION for the first time was
when it fully hit her - "I'm in a MOVIE!!!".

Finally they took a group picture with all the cast members in that scene
with her in the picture. The Production Assistant then told them all "You
are now all Official Cast Members of the movie Dumb & Dumberer".

We don't know if any of her scenes will make it to the final cut - the car
is more likely to appear than Rose - they REALLY liked the car. Everything
fell into place out of a clear blue sky. The Actor who interfaced with her
in the scene even turned out to be going back to Marietta and asked her if
she would like to follow him out of the city. They were setting up a HUGE
catered evening meal but Rose was getting tired and decided she better take
the opportunity to follow someone since it was dark and they were in the
Virginia Highlands neighborhood (which she had never been to before - and
she gets lost easily.

It didn't pay a lot but it gave her an Excellent Adventure and possibly got
her pretty face into an actual movie (if they don't cut the scene).
