Subject: [HP3000-L] OT: Worth reading
Tim Cummings asks:
>Why does everyone gloss over what an absolute failure Jimmy Carter turned
>out to be?
Because it's irrelevant. This isn't a job application, it's an opinion
piece. Whether the argument is valid or whether you agree with it should
depend on the content of the argument, not the resume of its author. Others
have posted editorials here, only to have them dismissed because of the
reputation of the publication in which they first appeared, or the accuracy
of some news item cited therein. All of these arguments are irrelevant. If
someone has an opinion to express and an article they find expresses that
opinion eloquently, then that opinion is no more or less valid on the basis
of who wrote the article.
This posting is not intended to express an opinion for or against Mr.
Carter's position. I'm merely trying to answer Tim's question.
