Look for our own Dr. Wilfred McClay, SunTrust Chair of Excellence in
Humanities when he appears on C-SPAN at 8 a.m., Sunday, March 16 . He will
discuss the book he has co-edited " Religion Returns to the Public Square:
Faith and Policy in America."
The book addresses the ways in which religion has recently emerged in the
arenas of politics, education, and social organizations. The editors argue
that America is moving away from a distinction between church and state and
that religion, its institutions, and its leaders have increasingly emerged
as topics of debate in many public and political forums. McClay will be
joined by Washington Post columnist E.J. Dionne, Jr. who wrote the foreword
to the book. After the presentation the two speakers will answer questions
from members of the audience.
