The HP version of Sendmail included in MPE 7.5 and available for MPE 7.0 as a
patch does give you standard bounce notifications.

However, if you are *reading* e-mail on MPE, Sendmail does not return any read
confirmations to the sender.  That is a job for the e-mail client.
