Yes the last letter of the Arabic spelling
of the country is the Arabic 'q'.

... push toward war against Irak (Iraq ?) as a ...

It is unlike the Latin 'q' in that it is 
pronounced like a 'k' as if you had your
finger stuck down your throat.
