So you agree that Saddam is in violation of UN resolution 1441.  I wonder
if, with a track record of being in violation of 17 UN resolutions, Saddam
would have a problem with being in violation of YAUNR  (yet another UN
resolution.)

But I like your proposal.  Let me expand on it a bit.  Instead of 300 or 400
inspectors guarded by blue-helmet personnel, let's send in 3 or 400,000
inspectors who can protect themselves.  If Saddam resists, they take him
out.  They will also make sure to by-pass the regime and distribute food,
medicine and humanitarian aid to the population, pretty much like they did
in Afghanistan.

Also, Germany is already making noise about changing their mind.

I guess it's just an issue of defining what last resort means.
