What's the deal with the return message from the list that your message has been successfully distributed.  The count seems to go up and down.  Yesterday I got the following.

Your message dated Tue, 4 Feb 2003 14:56:55 -0800 with subject "Re: OT:
USAA"  has been  successfully  distributed to  the  HP3000-L list  (795
recipients).

Today I got:

Your message dated Wed, 5 Feb 2003 08:20:08 -0800 with subject "Re: Changing
a field as KEY item" has  been successfully distributed to the HP3000-L list
(813 recipients).

Are that many people signing on or signing off a day?  Inquisitive people need to know :)
