Dear UTC Community,

On Wednesday 5 February 2003, at 0830 am, the elevator in Grote Hall did
not work.  I could not go up to the third floor.  Due to my knee operation,
I have to depend on the elevator.

Abbie Abbott, my very good ex-student went up to the fourth floor and told
the problem to Nancy Tolar, Department of Chemistry.

A few minutes before 0900 am., the beginning time of my class, Nancy came
down from the fourth floor to room 131 Grote Hall, my class room on the
first floor, to tell me that she had reported the problem to Physical Plant
and she told me to call her so she would come down to help me up to my
office, room 318 Grote Hall.  Fortunately, the elevator worked after my
class was over.

Their thoughtfulness made me feel that I am a lucky person to be around
beautiful people like Nancy and Abbie.
