Sending this to you becasue the market in stolen instruments is world wide and
it is possible that some of your children may be offerred one of these
instruments over ebay or similar situation. Please be aware, I would hate to
have to replace any one of these at TN's current budget

The Mercer University Department of Music suffered a major breakin of
the McCorkle Music Building between 11 pm Sat., Feb 1 and 9 am Sun., Feb
2. If any of the following instruments happen to appear in your area
please notify Officer Mike Kondorf of the Mercer Police Office
478.301.2970. We appreciate your help in this matter since many of the
instruments are irreplaceable.

Stolen instruments include the following:
Carcassi Violin (dark brown, highly polished; label inside says
"Carassi-1756"
value: $80,000
Hawthorne bow value: $3000; Hoyer bow value $2000
The Carcassi violin was inside of two cases; the exterior case was a
black rectangular case with a carrying strap. The inside case was light
green in color and had a velour interior. The violin was wrapped in a
blue and green scarf.
