Dr. Cherry Guinn, Professor of Nursing, will consult with the U. S.
Department of Health and Human Services and provide advice regarding its
Leadership Education Excellence program in Maternal and Child Health
Nursing.

Dr. Guinn will serve on a panel which reviews and makes funding
recommendations to HHS's Maternal and Child Health Bureau. She will bring
to the panel her years of educational leadership in the field of nursing,
and she will contribute her unique perspectives and recommendations about
the MCHB training program. She will have the opportunity to meet and share
ideas with other experts and to shape the future of maternal & child health
nursing by recommending innovative programs for funding. The review panel
will convene next month in Bethesda, Maryland.

Congratulations to Dr. Guinn for this honor! The recipient of several MCHB
grants, Dr. Guinn’s selection as a review panelist brings further
recognition to UTC’s School of Nursing and underscores her commitment to
on-going professional education for maternal and child health nurses.
