This issue really came out at the end of 2001.  I knew it rang a bell
but I had to look in the archives of the Listserv owners list.  It boils
down to this:

Outlook/Exchange in some versions/configurations will generate the
subject field as "Subject:<tab>Text of Subject".

Listserv automagically tries to convert tabs to spaces (maintaining the
traditional 5-space Unix tab characteristics).

Don't have a clue how to fix it, but that's what it is doing :-)
