To find out what is up in Chattanooga this week, go to:

Diane and I saw Dinner with Friends at the Theatre Centre last week, and I
highly recommend it. This is the Pulitzer winner about one failed marriage
and its effects two families. This is a highly-charged, yet appropriately
funny, adult drama with some strong language, and the situations are quite
real.

Remember next week the Patten Series will present the New Vic Theatre
Company of London, performing Chaucer's Canterbury Tales on Saturday,
February 8 and Shakespeare's masterpiece, Hamlet, on Sunday, February 9 at
7:30 pm. On Monday, they will also perform a matinee of Hamlet at 10 am.
All performances take place at the Roland Hayes Concert Hall in the Fine
Arts Center. For tickets, contact the FAC Box Office at 425-4269.

Canterbury Tales and Hamlet replace Comedy of Errors and Macbeth on the
season, as the National Shakespeare Company met an untimely end. After 40
years of touring, the weak economy caused them the close their operations.
Fortunately for us, the New Vic comes highly recommended. We will of course
honor those tickets sold for the other plays.

Thanks for your patronage and your patience.
