Chief Dale McNeely, Director of UTCs Department of Public Safety, recently
received $11,687 from the Tennessee Office of Criminal Justice Programs to
acquire new equipment for the UTC Police Department.

The Department of Public Safety at UTC consists of 23 police and security
officers. The funds from Chief McNeely's grant will equip these officers
with new communication technology, enabling them to better serve and
protect the University. With the grant award, Chief McNeely will purchase
six hand-held radios and two in-car video camera systems with wireless
audio. The additional hand-held radios will provide for better
communication between officers on campus, and the in-car video system will
increase officer safety by recording and documenting emergency situations.

Congratulations to Chief McNeely! With the acquisition of this new
equipment, the UTC Police Department can make UTC a safer environment for
students, faculty, and visitors to campus.
