We create our tapes with a ";directory" option, which means that if
something happens to the directory, we can restore the ACCOUNT structure.

When we upgraded from the 947 to the 929, I had the opportunity to run
through a "disaster recovery rehearsal" several times and found that
everything could be restored just fine, with the caveat that after all the
files were restored, we had to do one extra IPL to bring up the
communications properly or we would have an error and not be able to use
the LAN.
