Last night, by accident, I happened to catch Carly Fiorina on UK TV
being interviewed for a business program. As far as I remember (it was
late) she was touted as the leading American Businesswoman and she has
apparently been giving talks on "Why American Capitalism has failed"
(forgive me if it isn't the exact phrasing). During the interview,
Carly stressed that it was important for customers to be able to trust
Big Businesses (in spite of Worldcom, Enron etc) and the basis of this
trust had to depend on the integrity of the company (and their upper
management). I don't think I have to comment further on that.

She was also asked if she really thought she was worth her $1,000,000
annual salary but she fudged the issue and said that many other CEOs
earned more than she did. Personally, I wasn't impressed and the rest
of the interview was mostly marketing-speak.

Cheers,

John Dunlop
