You can calculate (or at least estimate) the BTUs yourself by simply looking
at the nameplate on the backs of the various devices. They'll read something
like 0.5 amps at 120 volts, which of course means that the device nominally
draws 60 watts of power. It isn't an unreasonable assumption to presume as a
first order estimate that essentially all of that power is being dissipated
into heat.

However BTUs are measures of work rather than power (where work is defined to
be the time integration of power consumed), thus the equivalent metric unit
of the English BTU is the kilowatt-second. Using Equater!, I find that 1
kilowatt-hour equals 3413 BTUs. Thus a 60W unit, for example, running
continuously, would generate ca. 205 BTU's in an hour (60 watts * 1 hour /
1000 watts/kilowatt * 3413 BTUs/kilowatt-hr).

As for the weight of the various HP3000's, I often have to carry one or more
of our 918's about half a block. Given the ache in my fingers by the time I
get where I need to go, I would estimate their weight at about 37.8 pounds.
Unfortunately, I can't help with the 997-400. I've simply never tried to pick
one up.
