The last film in the Spanish film series for the fall semester will be shown
Tuesday, November 19th at 8:15pm in Brock 201.
La primera noche de mi vida / The First Night of My Life is a comedy from
Spain (1998), by Miguel Alabaladejo. It is in color, 84 minutes in length and
is in Spanish with English subtitles.
Plot: A social worker and his pregnant wife leave for a New Year's Eve party,
just missing the husband's father, who was coming to offer them a ride. The
streak of bad luck gets much worse when the father's car is stolen, but a
series of coincidences and random events bring everything full circle in this
highly entertaining screwball comedy. One of several features commissioned
for French television as part of the 2000 Seen by... project, a series of
films with a millennial theme. --facets catalog
