Not much of an "attack" for all the hype. More like a foolish
stunt. It seems they used ICMP echo. It might have been done to
call attention to the fact that the once-distributed internet
is now more like a bus than a network, and vulnerable to real
disruption. Or by some nefarious organization as a probe in
preparation for an actual attack. Or an accident. Or a broken
router.
