Hi

Personally I had the opposite experience.  Since I separated the Samba
processes into the 2 different jobs, the performance of Samba has dropped
substantially.  I would like to go back to using the JINETD process, but
that was causing the HP to crash, so probably not the best idea.

Actually does any have any good tips on increasing the performance of Samba.
It isn't using much of the CPU, but it is painfully slow through Windows,
even opening a directory folder can take 10 - 20 seconds.

We removed samba from inetd as well and found that it runs better.
