Whether he is the first, second, third or fourth presidential recipient of
the Nobel Peace Prize, Jimmy Carter deserves recognition for promoting peace
and prosperity for all citizens of the planet. Whomever we choose to honor
for expanding peace it is important that we learn the lesson that person
teaches. We should be proud that as a race we humans pay service of any kind
to the concept of peace.

Peace is both an end and a means worthy of pursuing. Peace is not a product
of fear and not the outcome of bellicosity. Peace is the only vessel large
enough to hold the largesse due to humankind. It is our duty to expand the
limits of that vessel not to break away its edges.

Pray for peace.
